Based on an initial gift by family and friends in memory of James C. Keck, this fund is designated for graduate student financial support in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, including, but not limited to, support for travel grants for students in the field of thermodynamics and kinetics to attend conferences and present research papers and/or for the awarding of a thesis prize (if used to provide either research travel grant or thesis prize, preference will be given to students conducting research in applying the Rate-Controlled Constrained Equilibrium method to practical problems). Support may also include, but is not limited to, tuition assistance, stipend support, summer support, book allowances and general awards.
